Description
Native American shaman drums have been used for generations by American Indians for drumming circles, healing, journeying, sweat lodges and meditation. The Indian shaman drum is a rich part of Native heritage and culture.
In Native American history it has been the shaman, medicine man or witch doctor who has been looked to as a spiritual and political leader. This one sided shaman drum made by the Tarahumara Indians is a traditional Native drum crafted using a wooden hoop or frame and stretched goat skin rawhide heads and lacing.
Our Shaman hand drums are made with all natural materials. There is no metal used in their construction. Being Covered on only one side, the back is laced to form the symbol of a medicine wheel with the four cardinal directions that also serve as a hand hold.
Great for drumming circles and meditation as well as art projects. Rawhide shaman drums can easily be decorated with artist oil or acrylic. Drum beater included. Measures 16" diameter.
